One of my favourite authors, Paulo Coelho, wrote “Love like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples in a soaking joy.” A romantic, and truly lovely view of rain (and of course, love). I cannot think of a more beautiful, magical sentence, can you? I thought of this line yesterday as I walked the length of Kitsilano Beach on my first Vagabond photo adventure in my new home province of British Columbia. As a gentle rain drizzled down on my curly, red head I reflected on how my life has shifted and changed so quickly. The oxygen-rich ocean air fills your lungs with gratitude. Everything is green with the promise of spring. And this week, I have exchanged the words Chinook and Alberta Clipper with Pineapple Express…a warm, drenching rain born across the Pacific, intent on washing away the winter blues. I know I will miss the wide open spaces and expressive, deep blue skies of Alberta, but for now, I am eternally grateful for finding a new place to call home that is ripe for discovery. What road shall I take next?
