Have you ever been on a long drive, listening to the radio, and actually start really listening to the lyrics of songs? On most of my Alberta Adventures I have been “in the zone” paying attention to my Back Roads of Alberta maps and, of course, the road ahead. However, on yesterday’s driving adventure, my chosen, yet-to-be-discovered road, the Smith-Dorrien Trail, I found my mind wandering as I listened to the soundtrack of my drive. I’m currently trying a subscription to Sirius Radio and my station du jour is The Coffee House; a perfect driving station, as it features acoustic versions of many already awesome songs. While I was wending my way along the rough and rugged Smith-Dorrien Trail as it snakes along the towering peaks behind Canmore, the roof joyously off the Jeep, I pondered Carly Simon’s lyrics to the classic “You’re So Vain” and wondered what it would be like to have clouds in my coffee. And then there’s America’s “Muskrat Love….” Can you think of any other Hmmmm??? song lyrics?
I’m off for a rare Sunday Alberta Adventure as I see the sun is shining and the day will be warm. Time to take the roof off the Jeep again and explore more back roads in stunning Alberta.
If you would like to see some of my shots from yesterday’s adventure, like the one above, please visit my gallery here. Have a groovy Sunday!
I had that song in my head all the way to Saratoga in May.
