I hear this song in my head EVERY time I hop in my Jeep and head home to visit my folks. This past weekend I heard it every day as the Henderson clan (Jack, Bobbie and Ilene) partook in the annual Fall Colours Tour, visiting the picturesque and peaceful Manitoulin Island. I took the shot above on a long and winding back road on the island, and often we wished we could have stayed much longer and traveled every scenic back road. But time didn’t permit on this visit. Time did permit us to remind ourselves just how much we have to be thankful for on this Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. In a year of mercurial twists and turns, devastating losses and appreciated gains, each traveler hung on to each other just a bit tighter, grateful for the ties that bind us together still.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
