Yesterday I had an adventure that I will look back on fondly for years! The day dawned sunny and warm. A refreshing breeze blew in off the lake. A perfect day for an adventure! But where? I contemplated taking fun midway shots at The Ex but since I’m not a fan of crowds, the Toronto Islands beckoned, and I was not disappointed!
From the charming ferry ride to Ward’s Island, to the lovely and equally charming Island Cafe, the islands appeared before me as an oasis that I should have visited more often. After gathering sustenance at the Cafe (a barley sandwich was called for :)), I walked along the boardwalk on Ward’s Island and was immediately struck by it’s resemblance to the Stanley Park Seawall in Vancouver. Best walk ever!! And as the sun began to set, I made my way across Centre Island to find a suitable perch to take The Shot. My actual goal for the day was to get a sunset shot of Toronto from the best vantage point. You cannot get a better one than Centre Island! I found a quiet, rocky spit to sit and wait for the magic hour and here’s my effort for the day. I hope you like it!
Happy Sunday everyone!
