This week I’m sharing one of my favourite snaps from this fall taken at lovely Providence Bay, Manitoulin Island. I was on a short weekend trip with my folks and managed to capture this lucky shot just at sunset, the golden hour to photographers.
As the weeks progress in this new year of 2012 I plan to share new snaps from weekend road trips as they happen. I’m asking a reprieve for this week as I just started a new job (it is awesome!) and find myself all cozied-up in my beach front apartment just enjoying the winter sunshine as it streams through my window this weekend. I will venture forth soon, camera in hand, adventure at the ready. For today, I will leave you with one of my favourite travel quotes from Robert Louis Stevenson, who has captured my sentiment around travel. My simplified version? It is the journey and not the destination that counts. Enjoy the ride! Here’s Robert’s version:
“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.”
WOW! That has got to be one of the greatest evening shots I think I have ever seen — just fantastic!!!
Norma, thanks so much! It was indeed a lucky shot!
