I didn’t intend to post this photo. It was just a test shot for a new little camera I picked up yesterday. But I loved the colours, the subject (my old brownie camera) and most of all, the sentiment at the bottom. Enjoy every day. A simple sentence and yet powerfully true. Yesterday I had such a day where the intent from hour one was to enjoy each moment of a great day. Let me start at the beginning…
Each year our company gives something back to its employees if we have had a good year as an international company. It is a tidy sum that is the perfect amount to use for pampering yourself. So I did! I picked up a Leafs vs. Habs ticket for a Saturday grudge match at the Air Canada Centre. It doesn’t matter that it was the nose-bleed section; I was there!!! I made a day of it in my hometown. I picked up a second camera at Henry’s, perfect for travelling and tucking in my backpack everyday. As the sales lady said, this one is for documenting things, such as street journalism, or Patti Adventures around town. I languished at a nearby Starbucks while my new battery revved up, vanilla bean latte and an exquisite, luxurious piece of fiction called The Swan Thieves to keep me company. And then supper! I found a local restaurant called Terroni with stunning architecture inside and out and a compelling menu of southern Italian comfort food. This warmed me up enough to walk downtown to the Air Canada Centre in time for the highlight of my year…
I will save the outcome of this fine day for the next post. But if you want to see some of my rough shots with my new little camera, check out the new March Adventures gallery here.
Classic!
