As I sit here in my Team Canada hockey jersey anxiously anticipating tonight’s semi-final men’s hockey game, yet still basking in the glow of last night’s gold medal win by our women’s team, I’m struck by how emotionally drained I am as these Olympics draw near their close. How about you? Do you find yourself skating along with the short and long track speed skaters? Holding your breath for our figure skaters, willing them on to new heights? Wiping away a tear of pride for the playing of our national anthem, or a tear of joy? Or sorrow? Who knew we needed this awaking of the emotions? More importantly, how do we keep this spirit of goodwill, generosity and pride of country alive once the games are over?
Or has this spirit been there all along? Perhaps we just needed a celebration to give it a voice.
Go Canada!
Yeah, it was great eh??
